Posted October 29, 2018 12:09:07A new software update is available for some of the most popular automakers and brands to help the company’s cars better track their surroundings.
The update, available now for the Ford, Chevy, Buick, Honda, Lincoln, Toyota, and Volkswagen models, will improve the cars’ Autonomous Driving feature, according to the automaker’s website.
It also includes other enhancements to navigation, acceleration, cruise control, and automatic parking.
“This update helps our cars better predict the conditions around them,” Ford spokeswoman Erin McGlone said.
“For example, we’re also improving the car’s ability to better predict and follow traffic.”
The update will roll out over the next few weeks to a large number of the automakers’ vehicles, including the Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ, Lincoln Navigator, GMC Yukon, Lincoln Continental, and Ford Escape.
Ford also announced last month that it was rolling out a software update that improves the Autonomous Drive system.
The automaker said the updates were rolled out for its Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKS.
The software update adds the following features:The update is currently available in the U.S. only, and is expected to be rolled out to other markets later this year.
